My Notes on Red Hat One 2025
The future is RHEL AI, Openshift AI, Ansible, and Openshift Virtualisation! - That's the summary of Red Hat One 2025!
Red Hat One is a Sales Kickoff and Tech Exchange event at Red Hat. Every year, we get together for a week to discuss what was accomplished in 2024 and the future that we have ahead. New challenges, new technology, like Openshift AI!
This Red Hat One was the first global event, and we had the chance to meet our colleagues from other regions, such as NA and LATAM. Apart from that, it was my first visit to the United States of America, and I had the chance to travel across the entire country, from New York to Las Vegas, Nevada! Putting this in numbers, I traveled 9,393 kilometers, spent 12 hours in flight, and endured a couple of hours in the USA customs queue!
Day 1 – Check-in, meet-and-greet… and maybe a lobby pint or two?
I arrived quite late and only had time to check in at the hotel and grab a pint with my Iberia colleagues in the hotel lobby.

Day 2 – Grand Canyon
Since the first day of the event was a day off, I decided to wake up early and visit the Grand Canyon!

Day 3 – Event kick-off
On the third day, we had the event kick-off, where we discussed the company strategy regarding OpenShift, OpenShift AI, RHEL, and Ansible! After the early morning company sessions, the technical sessions began.
One of my favorite parts of the Red Hat One Event is the peer-led sessions. These sessions, created by Red Hatters for Red Hatters, offer a fantastic opportunity to learn from each other and share real-world experiences.
This year, there were plenty of sessions focused on OpenShift AI and Virtualisation! I attended insightful sessions on RHEL Image Mode, Security in the Public Sector, Edge and Federated Observability, and more.

Day 4 – The future is open source; the future is about innovation!
The fourth day was about innovation and shaping the future! The technical sessions I attended were about Architectural Thinking, Distributed Tracing with Openshift ServiceMesh, and onboarding developers into Dev Spaces, and many more sessions related to Openshift AI.
I want to highlight the session “Distributed Tracing with Openshift ServiceMesh” because they demo perfectly how powerful Service Mesh is nowadays on Observability. By just injecting trace-ids using application sidecars, the developers can monitor and trace the request end to end, from the trigger up to the last micro-service in the mesh. If you would like to learn more about this, I do recommend this blog article.

Day 5 - Flying back home
That’s a wrap! Red Hat One 2025 in Las Vegas was an amazing experience packed with incredible sessions and great conversations with my colleagues! The sessions showcased the latest innovations using Openshift and RHEL AI, Ansible, and Openshift Virtualisation. Based on what I saw, this year is shaping up to be an exciting year for Red Hat!
Hope to be at Red Hat One 2026 🚀🚀
